Xpress released a new 4WD M-Chassis “Execute XM1S”. , the 4WD M-Chassis Belt-Drive Touring Car that inherited the DNA of Xpress full size Execute Sport XQ1S TC. In the last episode, One RC expert had conducted a product review of this touring car – XM1S. In this time, this essay shows us how to reduce the weight of the Xpress XM1S that make a lightweight version of XM1s.

Modify Objective: Lightweight
Xpress XM1S chassis kit is set at an advanced level and affordable position. Although the original chassis kit’ performance is good, most of the racer want to custom the XM1S for pursuing higher level performance.
There have still had some room to improve the performance with XM1S, even the parts coming with the XM1S are good. This essay is introducing how to modify the XM1S. How to make a lightweight version XM1S. I want to build an XM1S with lower weight and higher acceleration, compare with the old one. In concept, it will use less power as the chassis kit become more featherweight. Also, it can improve the car speed as decreasing the gravity of the car when turning. It decreases the stress toward the tire when racing.
Xpress XM1S is suitable for modifying to lightweight as the original package included the front/rear differential mount, plastic spool transmission part, short battery available, etc. Lightweight is the good start as less weight leads the car performance to achieve high-level by calculating the parts weight and remove the unnecessary parts. In street competition/meeting, the lightweight XM1S brings the better racing experience as reducing the stress of motor and ESC. Even for the formal competition, it can insert the balancing weight to manage the center of gravity to achieve the weight requirement.

The weight of original XM1S with full gear is 1119g (Without body)
Frist, Yeah Racing Aluminum Lightweight Hex Adaptor Set!
The purpose of using #WA-035BK is the size of aluminum is smaller than the plastic.
It enables to fix the tire angle in unperfected angle problem when using an original plastic adaptor. Also, the accuracy of control will be improved too.

The 2.0mm carbon fiberboard is the main part of the lightweight project. It can decrease the weight from 110.6g (original) to 63.5g. It can increase the flexibility of the XM1S. You can install the official parts – XP-10371 too.
